More than 40 amateur boxers stepped into the ring to raise a knockout sum of almost £20,000 for charity at a Colchester club.
The contenders tested their skills in the Ultra White Collar Boxing event in aid of Cancer Research UK at Liquid in High Street on Sunday 20 March.
It was the third such event at the venue and the most successful to date with 21 bouts of boxing and 42 participants. They were cheered on by a sellout audience of family, friends and supporters.
Nick Jackson, General Manager at Liquid, said: “It’s a sport that is really growing in popularity. This event was a sellout and our biggest yet. It has raised a fantastic sum for a great cause.
“We had people taking part of all ages and abilities who had never boxed before and they were given plenty of support.”
The boxers were required to join Ultra White Collar Boxing’s eight week training programme to get into shape and have the technical knowledge to safely take part in three two-minute rounds.
Ultra White Collar Boxing will return to the club for their next event on Sunday 5 June.
